Employee Payment Handled Easily

When your company offers a lunch arrangement, it's important to know the rules for taxation of lunch arrangements. A lunch arrangement is tax-free for the employee if they pay at least 15 DKK per meal (excluding beverages) or 20 DKK (including beverages), and the arrangement is available to all employees. If less is paid, the employee is taxed on the benefit.

Gross Salary is an Alternative

The lunch arrangement can still be tax-free, even if the food is delivered from outside, if fixed meals are ordered and the employee payment follows a fixed rate. Alternatively, a gross salary arrangement may be an option, where lunch is paid via a salary agreement – however, with specific requirements for tax exemption.
